Hi team,
I am looking to import project plans to jira cloud which has multiple hierarchies and I dont think CSV importer is a good solution.
Do you have a better solution for MPP importer in Jira cloud version other than Big Picture as it is too costly?
There are a few options available for importing project plans with multiple hierarchies into Jira Cloud. Here are some alternatives to consider:
Use an alternative MPP importer for Jira Cloud: While Big Picture is a popular MPP importer for Jira Cloud, there are other importers available that may be more cost-effective. For example, you can try Project Plan 365 which has a Jira Cloud integration and allows you to import Microsoft Project files with multiple hierarchies. Another option is the Profields Jira Project Custom Fields app, which also supports the import of project plans from Microsoft Project.
Use a third-party integration tool: There are several integration tools available that can help you to import project plans from Microsoft Project into Jira Cloud. For example, you can try using Bridge24 which offers integration with Jira Cloud, Microsoft Project, and Excel. It allows you to import project plans from Microsoft Project and visualize them in Jira Cloud with custom fields and reports.
Manually create the project plan in Jira Cloud: While this may be a time-consuming option, it can be effective for small to medium-sized projects. You can use Jira Cloud's built-in project management features, such as epics, stories, and sub-tasks, to create your project plan. This allows you to create a hierarchy of tasks and sub-tasks, which can help you to visualize your project plan.
Overall, there are several alternatives to Big Picture that you can use to import project plans with multiple hierarchies into Jira Cloud. By exploring these options, you can find a cost-effective solution that meets your project management needs.
Hi @Mohammed Siyad , if CSV is not a good solution for you, then maybe consider the following add-on. While I have not used it, myself, I have seen it mentioned by a number of colleagues in the community previously.
