Assingning Team to Issues

Tomáš Doležal October 17, 2025

Hello,
I have a problem with Teams in Jira.

I am kinda new to administrating Jira for my Company. And we are facing problem, with adding team to specific Tasks/Featrues. On the Company managed project are Linked teams with users.

As the admin I am able to link this team to specific Task, but other users are not so lucky, is there any specific permission, which I need to give them in Permission schemes.

Added Later>

The user has Jira Premium licence. in the project he got role "S&P" and this role got permission "Edit Issue"

My linked Teams are on first Image

Hey @Tomáš Doležal  👋 welcome

The Team field you’re using comes from Advanced Roadmaps, and only users with Edit Issues permission and Advanced Roadmaps access can assign teams. Without that global permission, they’ll see the field but can’t select anything.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the screenshots.

I tried to configure the setup this morning. I adjusted the permissions for the user, both generally and within Plans.

The user has a Jira Premium license, which allows him to create and edit plans. However, he is unable to work with Teams. When I attempted to add him to a new test team, I received the following notification>

Hey @Tomáš Doležal That error usually means the target user (the one you’re trying to add) doesn’t have the Browse users and groups global permission. Without it, they can’t be added to Atlassian Teams.
