Auto-assign custom field value when create sub-tasks

Tom Hughes-Croucher May 14, 2013

We filter our Kanban boards based on a custom team field. Is there a way to make all sub-tasks that are created automatically inherit the team of the story they belong to so filtering is easy?

You could use the postfunction Set field value from parent (JIRA Misc Workflow Extension Plugin which is available for Ondemand) in you Create transition.

This is not possible with the default bundled JIRA, but there are plugins that can do this, for example:

This has a "Copy list of custom fields from parent" option
