Automating Components in issues matching the same component as their epic

I'm working on a hiring workflow and I wanted to create it in a way that epics are job postings and a custom issue type are candidates. Now the Epics have a component that's based on their division and I want all candidates under that epic to have a matching component. Is there a way I can automate this or program this into Jira?
