Automation Assign Issue - Copy from another issue - JQL no smart values?

I want to use the Assign Issue action with the "copy from another issue".
When I select the "From JQL issue", it won't let me use smart values. As soon as I type 2 closing '}}' , the "validate query" is greyed out.

Any ideas?

Apparently the validation doesn't work, but the action could be saved. After testing the smart values do work when the action is executed.
