Board configuration for company-managed business projects

Axel Forsman March 13, 2025

Hi, I have a company-managed business project and a company-managed software project both having the same permission scheme (I'm an Admin). For the software project I'm able  to access the configure/create board selection, but for the business project there is no such selection. What am I missing?

Rgds,
Axel

Hi @Axel Forsman

What you see is correct. For company-managed business board, there's no such board configuration as software's.

Adding to this...

@Axel Forsman

What about the business project board configuration do you want to change? There may be another method for getting to what you want.

Hi, I was thinking on such a simple thing as adding filters to the view.

Being new to the product, I do not fully understand the logic of limiting such functionality between different types of projects, especially as it seems it is not well documented and also the core of the product evidently is the same.

Business projects were originally designed for a different audience than Software projects. The functionality included was geared towards the anticipated needs and technical acumen of the intended audience.

The two types of projects are starting to share more features as the product evolves, but filtering is still different.

Currently you cannot create custom fields based on JQL in Business projects like you can in Software projects, but you can create saved filters based on the options available under the Filters button. After you select some options to filter the display you will see a Save Filters option become available.
