Hi,
This is a question about Jira Software (server).
Currently our Jira installation is synced through LDAPS with the local AD; If a user is added in the AD group, they can log into Jira. That works fine for now.
In the future, the credentials will come from Azure AD, and we should use SAML to authenticate. Is it possible to have the users created automatically in Jira using SAML? (the same way we have with LDAPS today) - I have tested some SAML plugins, and they all require the user to be manually created in the Jira local directory first. We would like to avoid this extra step - But is it possible?
Several of the SAML add-ons for Jira Server should allow you to create users on first logins.
The following screenshot shows where this is addressed in the Kantega SSO add-on
Here, you can choose to select "create accounts in JIRA's Internal Directory if needed" and assign default groups to your new users.
Hope this is of help :)
Cheers,
Jon Espen
