Can I customize status on which rollover report is based?

Kaitlyn Luboff March 18, 2022

We do our sprints a little differently than most, where a story just needs to finish QA and Owner Acceptance by the end of the sprint, and it isn't marked "Done" until closer to release (which may be several days after the sprint ends).

Because of this, our rollover count is much higher than we would expect.

Is it possible to customize the rollover sprint report, such that we're calculating rollover based on number of stories that have made it to OA (or whatever status we choose) by sprint end, rather than the number of stories that have reached "Done" status?

Hi @Kaitlyn Luboff

Is changing the Definition of Done in the board an option?

Scrum Boards don't work off the last status in a Workflow, just what status(es) are in the most right-hand column.

This means you could...

  • Go to Board Settings > Columns
  • Remove the Done status from the board
  • Set the last column (with a green band) to contain Owner Acceptance

^ Then, Jira would class an Issue as completed in a sprint if it reached that status instead, and not roll the data over to the next sprint.

The end-to-end flow of the data could then be tracked elsewhere, such as in the release hub or in another board.
