Can I select an item in the backlog without triggering the item view?

When I click on an item in the product backlog, the item view automatically appears on the right side of the screen.  Often I am selecting an item to highlight it in zoom call, or I am starting to select multiple items. In these cases the item view is not needed and often causes problems.  

Is there a way to click on an item without triggering the item view?

Hello @Sam Newman ,

If you press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard prior to selecting, it wont show you the task on the right hand side. Hope this helps.
