I created a new project but I selected "Share settings with existing project". Mistake.
My permissions are set to Jira Administrator.
Any advice on how to remedy this so I can see the Kanban option in the left nav is greatly appreciated.
Hi there! Jira boards are driven by the source - that can be a project or a query of many projects. Have you created a board and does that board ask for tickets from the project mentioned above? In my experience, only the boards that ask for tickets in a project appear in the dropdown to the left. If the board is existing, you may need to update the source query. If you have not created a board yet, you will need to call out this new project in the basis for that board.
You might want to mention which version of Jira you are using but I think your core issue is the above... it may also prove useful to include screenshots with sensitive info blocked out.

Thanks Crystelle. (I am a total newbie with Jira. My question may be elementary. I'm not sure.)
I created the new project (last screenshot). I don't have any tickets
I created a Project from scratch prior to this that shows the Kanban view in left nav bar. Here's a screenshot of that one. I want the new one, to look like the other one I created.

No worries! This isn't entirely intuitive so I will try to "virtually" walk you through. That yellow arrow is indicating that you can navigate to the Kanban board (active board view) of NSS Board. This is because NSS Board has "New South Ser..." project as one of its sources. In fact, that little carrot next to "NSS Board" is for the possibility that there might be 20 boards that reference tickets in this particular project and you might want to look at one over the other. Your profile maintains which board you looked at last as your "default" board when you access the project. Jira does a pretty good job of moving users through the motions of creating a board but not so much the structure. As a newbie, disconnect Jira project and Jira board in your mind. A Jira Board is just a way to see tickets, any ticket, in a Jira site. If you write a JQL filter, you can look at any number of Jira projects in the same board - boards are a reporting tool, Jira projects are databases or tables of data.
For this new project, we'll call it art easel because I can't see the partial name like I can for the second screenshot ;), do you want the tickets that eventually open to be seen on the NSS board or another board?

Thank you. Very informative!
I would like a "Master Project" to eventually see the Epics from multiple new projects so that I can have a Master Roadmap.

Ok! So we'll just adjust that name to "Master Board" ;) and that's pretty simple. You'll want to make a query using the Search Issues function and then save it as a filter. It will probably look something like "project in (project A, project B, project C...) AND issuetype = Epic". Save it as something logical like "Master Board Filter". If you want others to see this board you will need to work with the filter permissions but for now, best to just get the board built.
When you create a board so that you have "Master Board", the system will ask "project or filter" you're going to choose filter and start typing your filter name (Master Board Filter).
Now, anytime a new project is opened, you will add that project name to your Master Board Filter. As you add those values, your board will show information from those projects.
How new are you? There are some pretty good tutorials for these steps I can send you if any of that ^ is unfamiliar.

cool cool
First step, make a filter to power your Master Board - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/save-your-search-as-a-filter/
Second step, create your Master Board based on your saved filter - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-a-board/
Maintenance, update the board as more projects are created - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-filters/
