Cannot see newly added user in active agile board

I have added a new user and the new user had activated and login to Jira.  There are Jira tickets already assigned to her in the current Sprint.

When I view the Active Agile board, I do not see the new user in the list of users filter (on the top of the board) but i can see all other users.

Is this a bug or have i missed a setting so the new user is visible on the Active Agile board?

Interesting. TBH I haven’t paid much attention to the avatars. Question - are there issues on the board being displayed assigned to the user?

I found the reason why ... it's because the new user did not have any Jira tickets assigned to them yet.  Once there is a ticket, the avatar will appear.
