Cascaded selection using Java script between two fields

Hi,

I have 2 custom fields and one field has the Project name as a single select field option. The other field has the mapping with the Project with a specific information. 

Is there way in Javascript I can display the appropriate data based on the selection of the selection field that contains the Project name.

Please let me know if I need to provide any other details if anything not clear.

You are very unlikely to get this right by wedging javascript into Jira.

Obviously, I'll recommend using Behaviours in Scriptrunner, but that does not work absolutely everywhere.

A better option is to simply use a cascading select custom field.
