Could sub-tasks have keys formatted differently than keys of the parent issue

Dear colleagues,

Our way of using JIRA relies heavily on sub-tasks, but having sub-tasks with keys in the same format as the parent issue seems confusing and does not allow visually differentiating them. For example MAD-495 key of parent issue seems quite similar to MAD-496 key of a sub-task of its.

Is there a (programming) way to use another prefix for the keys of the sub-tasks, for example TASK-496?

Thanks in advance

No.  A sub-task is an issue in a project.  It takes the project key just like all the other issues in the project.
