Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×The old view had in the options [...] Create Linked Issue function. I can't seem to find this anywhere in the new view?
Currently, I have to change to "See old view" to gain access to that functionality. Surely it can't be that hard? What if the old view is no longer available?
You can no longer create a new issue and link it in a single step. You will need to create your issue to be linked and then use the Link Issue functionality.
ETA that you didn't mention if you were talking about a normal Jira project or Service Desk. In Service Desk, the process is the same, but it looks slightly different:
Thank you very much for the prompt response. Much appreciated.
The new view has some nice features, but I am very disappointed that so far two features I used have been lost in this new view. One is this one (which I used frequently) and the other is the attachment in list form and including the extensions and options to sort by date. This is sorely missed.
Having to create a new incident (I am working in Servicedesk and Projects) and then linking is a significant time wasted, as there are key fields that now have to be filled in, which the create new linked issue already pre-filled.
Feedback to Atlassian: Do not remove features that save time and effort in a new version!

For the most part I've gotten used to the new view after 6+ years of the old, but yes, there are definitely features missing.
I'm not sure about the issue link, but I do know there's an open issue in Atlassian's own Jira for adding the Attachments section back to Service Desk instead of displaying all attachments as comments. You can track it and vote for it here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-73397

I've spoken to one of my team mates and he's found the functionality again :-)
Click on the button "Link issue" in the new view (not next to it)
That leads to adding a link. At the bottom of that there is the old function add linked issue.
Did not know that, so I thought I share :-)

Interesting. We do not see the button with text and arrow like that in the new view, only the icon. I wonder what's different about our instance.
