Q2 Bookings July 9, 2024

I am Admin and have created hundreds of Child issues to my Issues. All of a sudden I cannot create child issues. See screen shot

Based on the screenshot, it looks like there are certain fields that are required that aren't being filled in. Is it possible that the Create screen was updated to remove those fields, but the validator that requires them wasn't updated?

Hello @Q2 Bookings

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

That message indicates that somebody has updated the workflow for the type of issue you are trying to create so that the two fields mentioned must be filled in for the issue creation to complete.

They used a transition rule rather than setting the fields to required, so Jira is not popping open the Create Issue dialog.

The workflow for that issue type needs to be changed to remove those rules so that the issue creation can complete. If those fields need to be filled in for that type of issue, then the fields need to instead be set to Required for that type of issue.
