Documentation on setting up Issue Types

I'm looking for a guide that outlines how to set up a new issue type along with all the other components, including schemes.  If there's a best practice guide that would be best.

I wouldn't say that there are best practices around issues types other than keep it simple and create ones that help you meet your teams needs.

I would add as best practice that the fewer issue types you have, the easier it would be to manage Jira
