Does Jira Automatically Renew the Sandbox After Expiration?

Hi Atlassian Community,

I want to understand how Jira handles Sandbox renewals after expiration. Specifically:

1. If our Jira Premium development instance has been renewed, will the Sandbox instance automatically renew as well?
2. If the Sandbox expires, is the data retained during renewal, or will it be deleted automatically?
3. Is there a grace period before an expired Sandbox is permanently removed?
4. Are there any manual actions required to ensure continuous access to the Sandbox without data loss?

I’d appreciate any insights or best practices to avoid losing data during this process.

Hi @lakshyajeet_swami 

A sandbox is not like a Jira trial. The sandbox has the same expiry date as your main Jira site.
So it will simply not expire or disappear as long as your Jira Premium license is valid.
