If you only want that field to be editable, you need to either set all the fields to read-only in the field configuration or use a plug in to set the behavior while on a specific screen.
If you added a custom field and it is not editable in line, make sure you add it the Edit screen. The view screen is what you normally see, but if you want to edit in line, the field needs to be on the Edit screen also. These are in the screen scheme.
Inline edit is a global setting, on or off (for all fields)

But want to enable for particular custom field ,is that possible ?
