Epic link disappears when creating another issue

Sam Bartolome August 24, 2022

Hi,

We have encountered in the last weeks that if we are in an Epic and we click into the plus sign to create some Stories related to the same Epic, the Epic link is not populated as before and we have to enter it manually.

We upgraded our instance in the last weeks too to 8.20.10

Is this a bug or a permanent change from Atlassian?

Hello @Sam Bartolome

Thank you for reaching out.

At this moment, there's a bug that causes the Epic link to be cleared when creating a second issue using the issue create screen:

Epic link isn't copied when using Create Another to create multiple issues

Can you check the bug steps and confirm if that's the bug you are referring to? If that's the case, please feel free to vote and watch the bug to increase its priority and receive notifications about any updates.

If you are facing a different scenario, can you please provide us with detailed steps and screenshots so we can confirm the exact steps you are following to reproduce the behavior?

Thanks!

Hi Peter,

It is not exactly as it happens to us, but really similar. I have also give my vote to the Bug to be taken care.

Do we know which versions for DC are involved? It didn't happened to us before but only until we upgraded to 8.20.10

Thanks for the advise

Hi @Petter Gonçalves

The issue is new to us and it only started happening in the last 1-2 months. Previously we didn't have any issues.

Considering the Bug you suggested is over 8 years old, could you confirm the versions of Jira affected?

Thanks

Hello @Sam Bartolome

The bug seems to affect Jira Server applications older than 2016, so I believe you are probably facing a totally different behavior.

In order to further troubleshoot it, could you please create a new support ticket at Atlassian Support?

In an internal ticket, we'll be able to dig deeper into the logs and check what might be causing this behavior.

Thanks!
