In my Sprint Board under summary, there is a summary of my epics with percentages of stories in each status. I don't want to share all my epics just ones under a certain saga and put in a dashboard. I don't have admin to our system, so not able to download 3rd party apps.
Hi @iatkinse
I understand that an app might not be an option for you at the moment, but just putting it out there for future reference:
If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your work items (issues) that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your work item fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, Smartsheet, or Airtable. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for (configurable) work item hierarchies, work item grouping by any work item field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
With these, you can build a report/dashboard like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
As every JXL sheet is powered by a JQL query or saved filter, you have full control over which epics you want to include.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
Hi @iatkinse,
Unfortunately that widget from the Summary page cannot be customized and Jira does not offer an equivalent dashboard gadget.
A solution would be to ask your Jira admin to install an app from Atlassian Marketplace. In case you want to try an app, this can be easily done by using the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.
With this gadget you can display certain epics based on completion percentage, calculated based on the count of child items (Stories, Tasks or even sub-tasks), or based on the sum of story points in their child items.
The result can be displayed in various ways: as chart, table or heatmap table:
This gadget is capable to display similar stats for initiatives, themes or features (- two levels above the Epic in he Jira issue hierarchy.
For how to do this, see this article: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/App-Central-articles/How-to-display-the-progress-of-Epics-or-Initiatives-in-Jira-or/ba-p/2858840
