Epics showing up as 'Issues in epic'

I have a customer who has Epics showing up as 'Issues in epic' and would like to have them removed. It appears the child epics were originally different issue types that got converted to Epics through the Move feature under the More button. Is there any way to remove them besides converting them back to another issue type?

Thank You!

Hi @SockBlocker

Are you able to update the issues through a Bulk Change and clear the Epic Link for those issues? You would do the query based on the children.

Hi @John Funk

Thank you for the response. The JQL

"Epic Link" in (PARENT-1) and issuetype in (epic)

Returns no results to bulk edit. Is there a better way to query?

thanks!

If that's the case - then how are the issues connected?
