Hello Team,

As mentioned in the question, I am trying to "export all project issues in .csv format from Jira v4.4.5 to import in Jira v7.13".

Does this helps to get all the data including custom fields, attachments, comments, users, etc..?

Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks

Fayaz

Hi @Vickey Palzor Lepcha @PVS

I have tried to import it to the same Jira version 4.4.5 but attachments didn't appear in the issues.

Got an error "Failed to attach attachments to issue FIRPR-1".Please check the log screenshot below:

csv_error.PNG

And i have removed illegal characters and tried. Now it's showing below-attached error:

csv_illegalStateException.PNG

Please let me know what should i do to successfully import Jira issues via CSV format.

Thanks

Fayaz

You will have to copy attachments separately - it is not a part of your normal backup

Hi @Vickey Palzor Lepcha

Then what about multiple comments,

we have multiple comments for some issues but when we export in csv its exporting only last comment.

Thanks

JIRA issues from one version - should not be imported into a JIRA running another version.

1) Upgrade your JIRA first from 4.4.5 to 7.13 ( this will involve multiple upgrades)

2) After your source JIRA version matches with destination JIRA version - export the projects

3) Import it to your next JIRA.

ALWAYS USE EXPORTS between JIRA INSTANCES running the SAME JIRA VERSION

Hi @Fayaz Abdul

Those all are Comming but This is The Major Upgradation Firest You will Test On One Demo Instance  If Its Comming Like this  4.4.5>>>5.0>>>6.0>>>7.0>>>7.13

If You Want 4.4.5  To 7.13 You Will Do Must  3To 4 times you Will Upgrade  Compulsory Because Of This is Major Upgradation.

Thanks,

PVS

Thanks @PVS  for your quick response.

This is fine, but if i do this export in CSV format for the same version v4.4.5 then would we get all the data including custom fields, attachments, comments, users, etc..?
