There is a field named "original estimate"
there is no option in the permission scheme where I can restrict users to edit this field (only a few people) will be able to edit the original estimate field
I am using a free plan, will this option be available in paid plan?
Hi @Ghulam Sarwar and welcome to the Community!
No, restrictions on editing individual fields is not even available as a permission setting on a paid plan. Permissions are available at the issue level, but not on separate fields.
If you use company managed projects, you could develop a workaround using some clever workflow design in combination with equally clever screen design. If you don't put the time tracking custom field on your edit issue screen - only on the view issue screen and configure a workflow transition with a transition screen attached to it that hás that field on it, you could apply permission restrictions on that workflow transition, so only people belonging to a certain group, role, ... (as an example) could execute that transition and - as a consequence - edit the field. However, since the time tracking field combines multiple fields related to time tracking (not only original estimate), you might find yourself facing other problems when it comes to logging work or updating the remaining estimate as well.
So, just saying that there might be options, but that these are somewhat complex and may have more downsides than benefits.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Ghulam Sarwar , OE is part of time tracking and there is not a permission specifically for this. You can remove the field from the screen but that would remove for all which I am sure is not your goal.
