Filter by Epic is missing in backlog view

It looks like the Backlog view has been enhanced to add Label and Issue type to the filters, but Epic is now missing.   Was this intentional?  My team heavily relies on ability to filter by Epic.

In the backlog, you can only filter by labels, issue types, and the assignee. The epic is affixed to the tasks and is shown in the long backlog list. To filter by epic, use the Issue navigator. Also, if you go to a specific epic, you will see the entire list of tasks attached to this epic
