Get JIRA to Display Estimated/Forecast Release Date?

We'd like to get JIRA to display an estimated or forecast release date. While the agile burndown has the trend line, having a date based on existing data would be even more helpful than a line that extends beyond the limits of the current burndown chart. Is there any way to easily get that date displayed?

I am afraid you would need to write a plugin to do that (maybe not so simple) or modify Agile gadget (looks simpler) on your own (assuming you have the access to GreenHopper sources as a commercial customer). Note that in the latter case you will make your own life difficult - as future upgrades will be somewhat painful (though with a patch script that should not be a show-stopper).
