Hi Fabio,

Thanks for your reply,

yes tickets I'm talking about are in green and in the right column of my board, and still they remain in the current sprint wheras they've been done in past sprints

Please could you share your board configuration? I assume that you are using SCRUM Board so all completed issues should be not visible on the board.

Is this ok?

Is this a scrum or Kanban board?

Johanna Czapka February 17, 2022

This is a scrum board

Have done tickets a resolution set?

Johanna Czapka March 8, 2022

Hi Fabio, sorry for my late reply.

What do you mean by "resolution set"? Where can I set it up?

Are your closed tickets in "Done" status with a resolution field not empty?

Resolution is a system field that asks people for a broad reason that an issue was closed (fixed, done, duplicate, cancelled, etc) and also acts to tell Jira whether an issue is "resolved" - if it is empty, most of Jira considers the issue "open" or "unresolved", if it has a value set, the issue is "resolved" and needs no further human attention.

Resolution should be handled by the workflow (you do not put it on-screen for people to create or edit issues).  As an issue moves through the workflow to "closed" status, resolution should be set by a post-function, or popping up a "resolve screen" to ask the human for it.  (It should be cleared by re-opening).  Depending on project and board type, you might be able to tell Jira to set it automatically with a check-mark on the column(s) it should be set for.

Thank you.

Could you please tell me where exactly I can set up/ fill the resolution field?

Look the screen below : the resolution column is filled and for the "done" tickets, the resolution status is "done" but still they are not considered as "done" in my sprint backlog

Ok, for filling it, see the second paragraph of my comment.

Sprints are different to the rest of Jira, they look at the board, not the resolution.  I am going to guess that your "Done" status is not in the last column on the board, so the sprints can't see it as "done".

That's it! Thank you very much Nic!

Hi @Johanna Czapka ,

what you mean with "Done tickets"? Done tickets should have a final status (status category green) and all these statuses should be on the last column on the right of your board.

Please could you check if your setup reflects that situation?

Hope this helps,

Fabio
