Hierarchy Levels - Need Level 2 to be option

We just implemented another level to our ticket hierarchy. We have the following:

  • Initiatives
  • Features
  • Epics
  • Story

Is there a way to make the Feature level optional? Meaning, a way to allow epics to link directly to the initiatives when the Features level is not needed?

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

The short answer is No.

An issue can have child issues only from the level directly below it. You can't skip levels. And this applies globally to all projects in your instance.
