How can I make custom fields editable in the view panel?

Matteo Laracca July 10, 2020

Hello,

I would like to make a custom field visible and editable in the issues view window.

For instance:

I would like to have 3 radio buttons that you can click directly in the view panel while viewing an issues details without having to click "edit", selecting the field, and then choosing the desired button. Are there any known ways to do this or work around it? I know there are plugins that do this for checklists and allow them to be editable in the view panel so its absolutely possible. I would just like to do that for a single radio button custom field so the user knows it is required.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Matteo,

if I got you right your requirement is to edit a field from view screen.

This is possible as long as the user has edit permissions and the appropriate field is on the view screen.

In this example the "Flags" field shows a pen next to edit saying "Click to edit". When clicked on it the value can be changed.

Cheers,
Daniel
