Welcome @Cerys Toner

You need to map a status to your column in order for them to show.

To do that you need to have the Board admin permission, if yes, then you can navigatte to board configuration from TOP right three DOTS (...) and then select the Column on the left pane where you need to drag n drop the status to the respective column.

Exactly, if you remove the status from any one of the column then the work items are disapper from the board. However as per the shared snap i dont see any status left in the unmapped statuses to map to the column.

I dont want to move all of the work items just one, but it only lets me move all of them at once

I belive you need to open the workitem and change/transition into to next status which you want to move to, you dont need to do any changes at board level.

If you unmap any status from the column to another then it will move all the workitems from that status and disapper from the board.

First is your project team or company managed? You can see that when you click on three dots by the project and at the bottom it will say the type of the project and also if it's team or company managed. If it's company managed, follow the guide from @Yogesh Mude
