Hi Karim,

it is stricly recommended to deactivate them but *not* to delete them. While deleting several elements like filters of the specific user are deleted, as well - next to a few other topics to consider.

As for your question to ownership of filters/dashboards: from my experience the process works best when a few days before offboarding the ownership is updated to a different user.
Ideally the users do this on their own. If you prefer you could define a process where a Jira Administrator takes care of that duty.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hello @Daniel Ebers

Thank you for your reply

I would like to know how can the owner of filter change the ownership .

I know how it's work for the jira administrator , but i like that the user do it without solliciting jira admini .

Thank you

The easiest way, indeed, is to let it a Jira Administrator do it for user. For users it's a bit more complicated. They would have to pick up the query from a filter shared with them, save them as a new filter and share it again. Then the old filter can be deleted. It is more a question on how disciplined and self-organized a team is structured.

It is easier to let the Jira administrator fix ownership - the drawback of this option is the probably higher work load on the administrator to do for him therefore if team aim to lower the load on the Jira Administrator they do it by copying over the filters.

I think this needs a bit of balancing and trying out which way works best for a specific company.

Apart from that there is a suggestion open to make this process easier - feel free to give it a vote (yes!) if you find it helpful to your use case :)
