I am hoping to setup Jira to manage releases of our software but I can't find any information anywhere about how a release in Jira is connected to a release in Bitbucket. I don't mind using either release branches or tags to manage releases in Bitbucket although I am leaning towards branches as it seems a bit clearer.
But either way, it is looking as though Jira's Release Hub doesn't connect to anything other than commits in Bitbucket - please correct me!
You are correct, the only connection the release hub has with Bitbucket is to the commits, and can warn you if you have issues that have not been merged yet, have not had a code review etc.
OK thanks for confirming that, not the end of the world but I am trying to keep our setup as simple as possible and if Jira's release hub could somehow manage Bitbucket release branches that would have been neat.
