Can someone please answer this question?  Yes, I agree that this is example shows the cloud instance.  I am in the cloud as well.  What is the answer for cloud?  As you know, having this permission is imperative to properly administering the project and the board.  Therefore, what is the answer for cloud?  What specifically do you mean "This is not available to cloud users?"  What is not available?  The view, the permission or the role?  Please provide a clear and detailed answer.  Thanks.

Hey @RaeLynn DeParsqual, PMP, CSM, SA ,

The permission Extended project administration is not available in the cloud instance.

This permission allows you to grant a higher level of access to project administrators which allows them to edit non shared workflows by adding existing statues to it and some other features.

Unfortunately, all cloud users can do is give a user the Project Role administrators and this will allow them to edit general project settings but not workflows and request types.

To give a user admin access to the board follow these steps:

  1. Select the menu dropdown (shown in screenshot)
  2. Select Board Settings
  3. Under the Administrators section, add the users or groups you would like be able to edit the board.

To give a user the project role Administrators follow these steps:

  1. While in your project, select Project Settings located at the bottom left of the screen
  2. At the top you will see a section called People, select that
  3. If the person is not already added to the project, select Add People and add the user(s) you want.
  4. If you are adding them as a new user, you can choose the role they will get before adding them. If they are already added or you are giving them additional access, search for their name and under the Role column is a drop down that allows you to add and remove roles

I hope this helps! If you are confused about anything I said or need additional clarification, please let me know!

This is helpful, thank you.  I do have one more question.  Can you please define the difference between jira-administrator, project administrator, administrator and board administrator?  If I have missed any administrator roles, that would be helpful as well.  Thanks very much.

Hello all,

I would recommend voting for these suggestions if you are looking for extended project administration in Atlassian Cloud: JRACLOUD-70190 & JRACLOUD-62881

Thanks,
Brittany

I think the issue and confusion is because the type of Jira version you are using. As I discovered the other day, this setting is only available to Jira Server and possibly Data Center users. This is not available to cloud users.

@andrew dingfelder from your screenshot, I am guessing you are on cloud. I obviously can't be 100% sure but if the option isn't there, that's probably why.
