How to convert html to jira markup

I am trying to migrate data from Leankit to Jira. the description field in Leankit gives HTML data, but Jira does not accept it. I need a way to convert HTML to Jira markup. How to achieve this?

Hi @Anuradha Madhyani -- Welcome to the Atlassian community!

I do not believe there is anything built into JIRA for converting, although the field handlers can be changed to use HTML rather than the markup.  I am unclear on the impacts of that change.

If you want to convert, please perform a web search and you will find several solutions people have created to perform this conversion.  Some appear to be older and so may not be up to date with any improvement/changes to the markup syntax.
