How to do bulk custom fields edit in JIRA

Hi I have a requirement to perform bulk edit on custom fields in JIrA. Is it even possible to do it? 
If yes then can you please let me know step by step procedure if possible ?

Search for the issues you want to edit, then use the "bulk edit" option in the tools menu towards the top-right of the issue navigator (the list of results)
