How to include replies when cloning issue?

Enrique Gomez August 10, 2020

Hi

I have an automation that clones issues between different service desks (see attached picture), the automation itself works fine but it just clones the original issue, no replies, no internal comments are carried out to the new service desk.

How can I make the issue be cloned including the notes and replies that it already has. I require this because we require to leave some notes to the receivers in the other Service Desk and agents don't have access to the others Service Desk so the note has to be added before cloning it.

Thank you in advance for your amazing help!

Hi @Enrique Gomez ,

I don't think this can be done with automation for jira.
An app like Elements copy and sync (Exocet) could help with this, you can copy issues (with all fields / attachments/comments/...) and even keep 2 linked issues in sync if you want to.

However, it only works on server / dc, should you be on either of them!

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply Tessa but I was hoping to find a solution without an app.

Hi @Tessa Tuteleers and @Enrique Gomez

Elements Copy & Sync is available on Cloud now. I know Enrique you were hoping to find a solution with an app, but the copy and synchronization options for comments and attachments were built exactly for your use case. The app does the copying, so you don't have make more users into JSD agents or grant them permissions on extra projects.

The app on Marketplace: https://bit.ly/3dZcCmA
