I have a user who wants something like the change mode of Microsoft Word in JIRA.

The user wants to use JIRA to process text (for a newspaper or an eLearning or an exam) in a structured workflow, so every ticket represents an article or a chapter or a question in an exam.

Potentially many people can view every ticket and change the description - the request is, that every change of the description (difference to the original description) is visible on the fist glance - best in red.

Is there any mechanismen to set {color:red} ... {color} around every part of the description that has been changed?

Or is there any other mechanismen - the default history is not enough for the user

There's no function to do this in JIRA, it's not a documentation system.

If there were, I'd imagine it would be the same as Confluence's history as well - not shown inline, but a history of revisions, which is roughly what you get with the default history already  - it's just that is a flat from->to, without highlighting.
