How to not show Epics with a "Done" resolution in the list of Epic links

Observateur February 18, 2022

I do not check the  "Show completed Epics" box. The tasks contained in the Epic are all in a "Completed" resolution.

Is the “Epic Status” set to Done in addition to the issue status?

Adding to @Jack Brickey 's comment, the "Epic Status" field is separate from the "Status" field available in all issue types. "Epic Status" is available only on Epics. By default this field is not shown in the Details view for Epics, but you can see the value if you use Advanced Search, change to List View, and add Epic Status as a column in the search results.

That field is generally updated to done when you use the Mark As Done option from an Epic Pane display in an agile board.

In my environments I have incorporated automatically updating the Epic Status field as part of the workflow transitions. When an Epic issue is transitioned to a "done" status I use a Post Function in that transition to set Epic Status to Done. For all the transitions to a "not done" status, I use a Post Function to reset the Epic Status field to To Do. That way, there is no need to set both the Status field and then execute a separate action to use the "Mark As Done" option.

Yep I do the same @Trudy Claspill . Good call out.
