How to put a task from the Backlog on Hold so that it does not show up on the Backlog of the Sprint

Per the Tutorial, you would need to determine a way to filter the issues when viewing the Sprint / Backlog. If nothing else, you could add a Label like "on_hold" and filter by "label not in ("on_hold")" to your Quick Filter JQL.
