How to set Edit and delete Own Comments' permission to owner of the comment

SARAVANAKUMAR February 19, 2019

I want to set the 'Edit/delete Own Comments' permission to owner of the comment and no one else in the project.

Any solution to achieve this?

No, there is no role of "comment owner" because roles are done at a project level.

But the permission does it for you.  You could grant "edit/delete own comment" to the entire world, and only the person who made the comment would then be able to edit or delete it.  That's the point of "own" in the description of the permission.

Thanks. I granted the permission to "any logged in user" and verified I could delete my own comment but not others' comments.

Hi @SARAVANAKUMAR ,

Using permission schema you can update this. In the permission schema, you will have project permissions. For these you can add users/groups/roles.

There are Edit Own Comments and Delete Own Comments permisisons. you can enable this to jira-users. so all jira-users can edit or delete their own comments
