I have a few tickets that have the fields "Start date" and "Due date" - these are not required fields in my project or work space.
I am trying to empty these fields and leave blank as I am working in Kanban and only want to set dates on the issues as they get picked up by the team.
I have looked in several questions here in the forum and have followed the instructions for various methods including bulk edit, using backspace - enter to delete date, deleting any date with the date picker, but none of these methods work.
I clear the date fields, they seem to save and have no dates, but when I navigate out of the issue, it gets automatically re-populated with TODAY's date on both fields.
Any idea as to why this is happening? and how to fix?
Hi @Natalia Gonzalez -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Please take a look at the issue history for one of these issues. What (or who) does it say is changing the date fields?
I wonder if you have an automation rule, or other automated action, which is populating the fields, and the history may confirm this.
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi Bill! sorry for the late response, and thank you so much! yes, this is the case, I am using the Big picture plug in and it is actually it modifying the dates... I still need to investigate how to manually update them

Hello @Natalia Gonzalez
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
Does the History for the issue show a record of the field being cleared? Does it show a record of the field being re-populated?
Have you checked to see if an Automation Rule is re-populating the field? Click on the Rule Executions field to see a list of rules that have executed against the individual issue.
