How to sync Discovery project and Plan

米岡裕矢 December 28, 2024

Discovery project issues are not supported Plan ?

After I updated Target start date in Plan, and Push "Unsaved Changes" and save, this update cannot watch in issue panel of discovery project.

As far as I see, discovery project doesn't have "target start" or "target end" field.

I tried to add this field as custom field, but it doesn't works.

Hi @米岡裕矢 ,

Date fields are not currently supported in Jira Plans. While global fields were introduced relatively recently in Jira Product Discovery (JPD), they also do not support adding date field types from Jira fields to JPD. As a result, Jira custom date fields (which are supported in Plans) cannot be used in JPD projects.

I would recommend raising this question or request in the Jira Product Discovery product group. This is where the JPD team monitors feedback and discussions about feature requests.

As we’ve recently started implementing JPD projects for our clients, I agree that support for date fields would be a valuable addition.

Cheers,
Tobi

On additional note, here's a feature request for supporting JPD date fields in Jira Plans: JSWCLOUD-27206: Support JPD fields to advanced roadmap plan

@Tomislav Tobijas _Koios_

Thank you for your information.

If JPD can collaborate with Plans like other standard project, it is very helpful.

What I would like to do with JPD and Plans is to color-code the timeline bar by status.
If this functionality could be accomplished on the JPD timeline-view, that would still be fine.

Anyway I voted for this issue.

@米岡裕矢 yeah, I don't think that's possible at the moment. You could use in-product "Give feedback" option or try posting this discussion/question/feature request on the JPD Community product group.

Hi @米岡裕矢 and welcome to the Community!

When adding those fields to your JPD project, you need to make sure you add the global fields to your projects, not create them as new fields in your JPD project.

In project settings > Fields select the option Add global field.

Hope this helps!

I tried to add these field as global field.

And I changed start-end date in Plans, and saved in Plans.

But these fields are not still reflected the changes (blank).

As @Tomislav Tobijas _Koios_  said, it seems my expected feature is not implemented yet for JPD...

Or if you have the solutions in current, please tell me more detail.
