How to track remaining estimate in points?

A couple of our jira server projects are using points estimations. We would like to also track remaining estimates in points while tasks are in progress. How can we achieve this? As it appears we can only enter time values in the remaining estimates. Do i need to create a custom field for this?

You would need to create a new field and let users fill it up.

Thanks Alexey. This seem a bit counter intuitive, especially as scrum teams tend to use points.

I wonder why this is not out of the box in jira.

I am not sure why, but I never needed to have a remaining estimate in story points. I guess it is a matter of methodology.
