I am preparing a plan to move local server data to the cloud, and I am curious what the global experience has been with the level of support provided for the <10 user Jira core cloud account?
~ When issues occur are they serviced quickly, or are there quantifiable delays?
Are any forms of accessibility security available with the cloud options (and their corresponding support license); Setting firewall rules which only allow connectivity to specific IP addresses, VPN connections, to provide a quantifiable barrier between my data and the global internet?
If I do move, I also want to be confident and assured that my data, and all its customizations , within the Jira server environment will be entirely usable.
What has migration been like? How well does support facilitate the move, what modifications to local server data must be made and should be made before migration, and under what circumstances?
Hello Kyle,
Thank you for reaching out.
Regarding your first question about JIRA Cloud support, the features and support specifications for your site will depend on which support plan you will sign-up to in your Cloud site.
Currently, we have the support options mentioned in the documentation below. Please, take a look at the "Cloud Deployment" table to see the SLA target, support channels and features we have for each support plan:
About accessibility security of Jira Cloud application, we have a page containing all the IP ranges and domains for Atlassian cloud, so you can configure your Firewall without exposing your connection to the global internet:
- Atlassian cloud IP ranges and domains
For the migration from Server to Cloud, you can check in the documentation below all the prerequisites and steps you should take to properly migrate your entire Jira Server with all its data and features:
Migrate from Jira Server to Jira Cloud
Of course, we recommend you to first schedule a test migration to make sure it will work as you expect.
P.S: Although the migration supports all JIRA features and data, it's possible that some plugins you use are not available for Jira Cloud application. You can check their compatibility in their respective marketplace page in http://atlassian.marketplace.com/.
