I can't find the setting to disable the "hide completed issues older than" on my Jira board

Hi -

I have a Jira Cloud Software project Jira Kanban board which is hiding all the issues with a resolution status older than (perhaps) 2 weeks.

The way we are using this particular project means we have multiple statuses that set the resolution to Done, but 2 of those statuses are in effect open and they require an Annual Review.

I have been looking for the setting to disable the "hide completed issues older than" in all the places I remember it being and all other admin settings for the board and the project and I have looked in forums and checked those too but it just doesn't seem to be available.

Is it possible that the setting doesn't exists for my setup?

Thanks,

Hannah

Hi Hannah,

It seems that you want to want to hide most 'Done' tickets, but not when the resolution is one of two options. In that case, you should indeed disable the setting that Dick was referring to (see screenshot below), and use the 'board sub-filter' option that is above it, to hide specific items, without using the generic 'Hide completed issues' function.

For instance, your 'Board sub-filter' could be something like:

resolution = EMPTY OR resolved < -2w OR (resolved > -2w AND resolution not in ("Cannot Reproduce", Done))

This will act as an additional filter to keep your Kanban board clean. So, whatever is listed here, will be used on top of the regular board filter. I haven't tested above yet, but I hope you catch my drift. If you need any more help, please share some screenshots and more context where possible ;)

By the way: Are you using fix versions in this project? If so, this could also be the reason that issues are disappearing from your board, if fix versions are being released. Especially if the board sub-filter is set to default (as in the screenshot below)

Hello Hannah,
You can find the 2 weeks setting under board configuration, general, bottom line. You need to be board admin to be able to change that.

Hope this helps,

Dick
