I've tried to set up a new account for BitBucket however I'm not receiving any verification emails
I've tried re-sending the email a number of times and haven't received any of them.

We are currently seeing an incident in regards to email delivery. We are tracking this over in https://jira-software.status.atlassian.com/incidents/q6q5df85568d
I'd recommend watching that statuspage URL for updates to this. Once we have something more to share on this problem, that statuspage will be updated.
