I need to link two Jira projects that are on different instances. I have been exploring various solutions, such as using Scriptrunner with a script. Are there any other options available?

If you talk about "link 2 projects", I am assuming you want to sync / exchange information between issues in those different sites. The marketplace does offer a couple of options to do stuff like this: Backbone, Exalate, GetInt, Issue Sync and Scriptrunner Connect are all Marketplace Solutions that support this type of solution in their own manner. Which one best fits your needs very much depends on the depth of the integration, the skills you have on your team (some apps require more technical skills to set up than others), ownership of the different sites (some apps must be installed on both sites), ... - so have a good look based on your requirements which one fits best.
