If I have JIRA standalone 6.4.11 and want to add JIRA agile, do I need to install JIRA 7?

I have JIRA 6.4.11 standalone and would rather not upgrade to 7. Can I still buy and install JIRA agile plugin? If I do get a recent license, can I still use it with the plugin version on 6.4.11?

Yes, you can. You'll need to purchase a license for JIRA Software and you can install JIRA Agile following the steps here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/x/WBiLLg .

JIRA Agile will accept and use the JIRA Software license.
