Hello Folks,
In my project, I have configured a custom field called Acceptance criteria, In the excel cell I have drafted the points by points but when uploading using CSV, in jira all points are same there is no line break
I used alt+enter still no use
In excel csv (Acceptance Criteria)
AC1: Login page loading
AC2 :Landing page visisble
AC3: Login process
In jIra after import it is same line as below
AC1: Login page loading. AC2 :Landing page visisble. AC3: Login process.
Please provide suggestions and I would appreciate it
Thanks in advance
Abdul
Also @Abdul Wahab - as a workaround, when you try to import the csv data, when mapping the fields, make sure to leave the checkbox option for "Map field value" unchecked but set the field name in the "JIRA field" drop down like below.
Doing this & running the csv importer, the line breaks were preserved
Hi @Abdul Wahab - I suspect you are seeing this behavior as you might be trying the csv import from the issue view - i.e. clicking the 3 dots and running the csv import or using the old importer experience
If you ensure that your csv is saved with proper encoding (UTF-8) and run your import using Jira’s built-in CSV importer (via System > External System Import > CSV), the line breaks are preserved in the description field if you use the new importer experience.
The constraint with the new importer experience though is that you cannot choose an existing Jira project that you want to migrate the issues into. It asks for a new Jira project name and imports the issues into a new Jira project
On the screen though, you get a message that the new experience is not completely ready & Atlassian is working on it. So I'd expect once this experience is ready, it should be able to identify the line breaks

Hello, Good day. Have tried using double quotes as shown in this article : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/import-data-from-a-csv-file/ ?
