Inherit 'Component' from 'Test (Xray)' to 'Bug'

tomaszkaleta December 8, 2021

Hi,

as at topic, I want to create a project automation rule that

Inherit 'Component' field from Test (Xray) to (Bug)

Abbreviations

Let's assume that

  • (TS)  -Test scenario stored as 'Test (Xray)' with component (DNS)
    image.png
  • (TE) - Test execution of (TS)
  • (BUG) - bug created from (TE)

Description

The user creates (BUG) as a result of (TE).

After creation (BUG) has automatically created relation

Result

Problem is that created rule

was even not triggered.

Expected

The rule is triggered.

  • If I create linkage manually (so not via Bug to Test Execution) - the rule is triggered and is making changes that I wanted:
Inherit 'Component' from Test (Xray) to (Bug)
  • I have tried to change LInk types to All or trigger event to Create issue  - same problem

Under rules details there is a tickbox :
Allow rule trigger

Check to allow other rule actions to trigger this rule. Only enable this if you need this rule to execute in response to another rule.
Check if that helps.
