Is it possible to migrate from jira server to jira cloud, using API Rest?

I am looking for information about the jira cloud migration,  if is possible to migrate from jira server using an API Rest? If so, what would be the main requirements to or constraints to make it possible? .

Hi Carol,

as of today there are several approaches on how to migrate to cloud.

REST API is an approach where you would have to do many things on your own - to re-invent the wheel in other words. Even if doing so you would probably not capture all the data you require to migrate.
Only some rare cases with special requirements come to my mind why this would possible useful.
